The Daily Acca: Marseille to serve up a goal-fest

Cagliari’s impressive run to continue

Bet 1: Back Cagliari @ 13/10 – KO 19:45 GMT

After only finishing in 15th place last season, Cagliari are having quite the time of things this year. Rolando Maran is still the man in charge, and his team have taken 24 points from their opening dozen matches, to sit fourth in Serie A.

They actually lost their first two fixtures, but since then it’s been seven wins and three draws – with their three latest outings being victories.

Today they travel to Lecce, a club who are in 16th place. They are new to the division following promotion from Serie B, and their run of four successive draws was ended last time out – a 4-2 defeat at Lazio.

Sevilla to drop points on the road

Bet 2: Back Valladolid & Draw @ 5/6 – KO 20:00 GMT

Real Valladolid face a stern test at José Zorrilla tonight as Sevilla are the visitors, but I just can’t see them losing in front of their own fans.

The hosts are unbeaten at home this term – drawing their opening three, before beating Eibar and Mallorca, most recently. Admittedly they haven’t had the toughest set of opponents, but one of the draws did come against Atletico Madrid, and another against a then in-form, Granada.

Sevilla are fourth in La Liga, and are seven unbeaten in all competitions. They have won just one of their last four away league games though, and they conceded nine goals during that period.

Unders backers Toulouse

Bet 3: Back Over 2.5 Goals in Toulouse v Marseille @ 9/10 – KO 20:00 GMT

Toulouse are second from bottom of Ligue One, but when it comes to how many goals their matches are averaging, they sit second from top.

A total of 25 goals against gives them the worst defensive record in the division, but they have netted 15 in 13 themselves, which gives their games an average of 3.08 goals each time.

Of their 13, eight have seen this selection land, and they come into this fixture on a run of six to end with the ball in the net on three occasions or more.

Marseille have a healthy average themselves, as their fixtures are averaging 2.54 goals per 90 minutes, and while only six of their 13 have seen Over 2.5 backers collect, four of them have come from their last five on the road.
