Lee Clark believes all the pressure will be on Derby County when his Blackpool side visit the promotion-chasing Rams on Tuesday.
The Seasiders have had a dreadful season and are already relegated from the Championship but Derby are in a poor run themselves and have only won one of their last nine fixtures.
Blackpool are on a 14-match winless run of their owne and it is unclear whether former Huddersfield Town and Birmingham City boss Clark will still be at Bloomfield Road next season.
It’s a chance for some of these youngsters to stake a claim for next season.
Blackpool are 21.00 to beat a Derby side that is currently available at 4.00 to be promoted this season.
Clark said: “We can try to relax and give ourselves a chance. Derby are a great team, with some great players, and the front four have pace to burn – Johnny Russell, Chris Martin, Darren Bent and Thomas Ince.
“They have some terrific attacking footballers, who move the ball around very, very quickly. Those options in attack make me envious but we have to try to cause an upset.”
Blackpool have failed to win an away match this term and will be without Darren O’Dea on Tuesday after the defender broke his nose at Ipswich Town at the weekend.
Clark added: “We have to be right at it. It’s a short turnaround and we’re scraping around for bodies because we’re losing them by the game. It’s a chance for some of these youngsters to stake a claim for next season.”
