Burnley boss Sean Dyche is keen to make several more signings before the new season starts after wrapping up the capture of Matt Lowton from Aston Villa.
The 26-year-old right-back has penned a three-year deal with the Clarets and has been signed as a direct replacement for Kieran Trippier, who completed his £3.5million move to Spurs last week.
Burnley are expected to pay an initial £1million for Lowton, rising to £2million with add-ons.
Lowton made 80 appearances for Villa after moving to the club for £3million from Sheffield United three years ago but was deemed surplus to requirements at Villa Park by Tim Sherwood.
There are a couple of things that are already in process now, but it’s not always easy.
Dyche said: “We’re always actively looking at targets we think we can get in. There are a couple of things that are already in process now, but it’s not always easy. We’re opening channels to possibilities.
“I’d like to have the right people in the right slots however long that takes. We like the group we’ve got and we want to be flexible and add to that, it’s just when those situations become open.”
Burnley are available at 2.60 to win their first Championship game of the season on 8th August against Leeds United and are 5.50 to be promoted in the 2015/16 season.
