Watford head coach Slavisa Jokanovic has urged his side to secure the Championship title after sealing promotion.

Right now we need to concentrate, it would be silly when we still have the chance to lift some silverware.

The Hornets will be playing in the Premier League next season but they could miss out on the Championship trophy if they fail to beat Sheffield Wednesday and Bournemouth take all three points at Charlton.

Jokanovic is delighted his side have guaranteed a top two finish but he now wants Watford to end the season with some silverware by seeing off the Owls, with the Hornets 1.40 to win the match.

“We are obligated to start celebrations after the game on Saturday not before,” he told the BBC.

“Right now we need to concentrate, it would be silly when we still have the chance to lift some silverware.”

Watford are 1.28 to win the Championship outright and Bournemouth are 3.75.

Jokanovic was also quick to heap the praise on striker Troy Deeney, who has bagged 21 goals this season to help Watford earn promotion.

He added: “Especially last month Deeney has done a great job for us.

“He has not only scored goals but he was also a leader in the dressing room and on the field. He pushed the team to believe and fight for promotion.”
