Eddie Howe is looking for Bournemouth to get back on top of the table.

Eddie Howe is looking for his Bournemouth players to build on their 2-1 win against Wolves and surge back to the top of the Championship on Friday.

The Cherries boss continued to back his players in a recent five-game winless slump which had threatened to derail their hopes of promotion to the Premier League this season.

We have to know how good we are. We have proved that because we wouldn’t be where we are if we weren’t a very good team.

However two goals from Yann Kermorgant sealed maximum points against Kenny Jackett’s fellow promotion hopefuls at Dean Court this week to move Bournemouth back to within three points of top spot.

And if the south coast outfit can make it two wins on the bounce in their televised Friday night trip to face Fulham at Craven Cottage, they will be back on top of the table ahead of their rivals playing on Saturday.

On Tuesday’s win, Howe said: “It gave everyone a boost. All the question marks, doubt and negativity, from our perspective, were never there.

“It doesn’t mean it goes away because you have to prove yourselves every week, but it proves there’s nothing wrong with this team. This group is very strong and it’s up to us what we achieve.

“That inner self-belief is so important. We have to know how good we are. We have proved that because we wouldn’t be where we are if we weren’t a very good team.”

Bournemouth, who are 2.00 to be promoted, can be backed at 2.00 to win at Fulham, while the Cottagers are 4.00 and the draw is 3.60.
