Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka remains upbeat about his side’s chances of beating Brentford and going on to win the Championship play-off final.
Boro had to settle for fourth place in the final table after failing to beat Brighton on the final day of the regular season and play the first leg of their play-off semi-final against the Bees at Griffin Park on Friday.
Middlesbrough can be backed at 10.00 to beat Brentford 2-1 on Friday and at 3.40 to secure promotion to the Premier League.
Karanka said: “We have to prepare as well as we can for the next game. I think it’s difficult for the players.
“Sometimes it is frustrating for me because I always want more. But it is difficult to play at your best when you have achieved your aim.
“I can’t forget the amazing season the players have had this season. We are a very good squad with very good players and our destiny is in our hands.”
Norwich City finished third and will take on Ipswich Town in the other play-off semi-final.
