Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy has added Crystal Palace duo Zeki Fryers and Jonny Williams to his promotion-chasing squad.
Former Manchester United, Standard Liege and Tottenham left-back Fryers is confident he can help Town return to the Premier League – they are currently 7.00 to be promoted this season.
Tyrone Mings is suspended for the next two games, so Fryers could be handed his debut for Ipswich in the Good Friday clash against Bournemouth, which Town are 2.90 to win.
Town are currently sixth in the Championship table with just eight points separating the top eight sides with seven games to go.
Hopefully now I can do my best wearing the Ipswich shirt.
“I’m delighted to be here and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead,” said Fryers.
“Ipswich is a massive club and the players are doing really well this season, looking to earn promotion to the Premier League.”
Fryers moved to Selhurst Park from Tottenham in a £5million deal last summer but he has only made one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Eagles so far this season and was loaned out to Rotherham United earlier this year.
“I played against Ipswich earlier this season for Rotherham and hopefully now I can do my best wearing the Ipswich shirt,” added Fryers.
“I’ve had a good grounding as a youngster with Spurs and Manchester United and obviously I’m a Palace player now, so hopefully I can use those experiences to help Ipswich get to the top-flight. That’s the aim anyway.”
