Alex Neil believes that his Norwich City side have a good chance of clinching automatic promotion to the Premier League after returning to winning ways.
A comprehensive 3-1 victory at home to Nottingham Forest lifted the Canaries to within two points of the top two, with Neil looking for a strong showing over the final seven games of the regular season.
Hopefully, we can have more ups than downs and if we can do that then the top two is certainly achievable.
He said after a first win in three: “We’ve got to keep it steady, because over these next seven games there are going to be ups and downs I can guarantee.
“That will be (the same) with us and with every other team. Hopefully, we can have more ups than downs and if we can do that then the top two is certainly achievable.”
City are 5.50 to win the Championship title this season and are 2.00 to gain promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
Meanwhile, Forest boss Dougie Freedman has refused to give up on his side’s hopes of making the play-offs, despite the loss at Carrow Road leaving them te points adrift of the top six.
He added: “There’s no way we are going to stop fighting for a top-six finish, even though it will be tough.
“We will continue to show spirit and commitment for the rest of the season and battle hard for every point and we’ll be going all out to win our next two games against Wolves and Brentford.”
