Wales defender Sam Ricketts has hinted that he will be leaving Wolves in the summer after slipping out of the first-team picture at Molineux.

The 33-year-old thinks it will be in his best interests to find a club where he would be guaranteed more action as he attempts to prolong his international career.

Ricketts has not featured for Kenny Jackett’s side, who are 15.00 to be promoted from the Championship this season, since November.

Kenny Jackett’s been great. He has explained his decision.

The former Swansea City and Bolton Wanderers full-back, who is out of contract at the end of this season, said: “I would like to play for as long as I can and it’s looking like I will have to find a new club to do so.

“Kenny Jackett’s been great. He has explained his decision. One day I may be a manager passing on that same thing. So you respect that.

“He has been fine with me and good enough to ask me to help out with the defenders, which I take as a huge honour.”

Wales play Israel in a Euro 2016 qualifier in Haifa on 28th March and can be backed at 11.00 to win the match 2-1.
