Ghana forward Andre Ayew is confident that he has joined the right club to help him improve further, having signed a four-year contract with Swansea City.
The 25-year-old has ended an eight-year association with Marseille to try his luck in the Premier League and confirmed that he had a number of offers to consider before opting for the Swans.
I’ve played in the Champions League etc, but now I want to make it in the Premier League.
And Ayew, who played and scored for his country and the World Cup finals in Brazil last summer, is happy with the choice he has made.
He told Swansea’s official website: “Football is all about growing up and becoming a better player and a better person, this is the next chapter. I’ve played in the Champions League etc, but now I want to make it in the Premier League.
“The project that the club has for the future is very exciting and when I spoke to the chairman and manager I felt this was the right place for me.
“I felt that my desire to play in the Premier League and wanting to grow as a player meant that Swansea was the best solution for me in every way.”
Ayew was part of the Marseille squad who won Ligue 1 in 2009/10, while last term they finished in fourth place in the French top-flight and qualified for the group stage of the Europa League.
The Swans ended in eighth place in the Premier League, narrowly missing out on European football themselves.
City can be backed at 15.00 to finish in the top six next season and are 2.25 to secure a place in the top half of the table, while they are 9.00 to be relegated.
