Steve Bruce admitted that a lack of goals had ultimately cost Hull City their place in the Premier League.

Last season’s FA Cup finalists were relegated following a two-year stay in the top-flight when they could only draw 0-0 with Manchester United at the KC Stadium while Newcastle United beat West Ham 2-0.

The Tigers only managed to score 33 goals in 38 Premier League matches with Nikica Jelavic finishing as their top-scorer with just eight.

“We all enjoy the high times. The low times, you take a kicking,” admitted a distraught Bruce afterwards.

“I think the simple fact is that in nearly 50 per cent of the games we’ve played – and all season we’ve probably played with two strikers – we’ve not managed to score. So that’s given us, unfortunately, too much to do.”

Abel Hernandez only scored four goals all season while the season-ending injury to Robert Snodgrass last summer also hit Hull hard.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are 1.30 to win Saturday’s FA Cup final and Aston Villa can be backed at 3.75.
