Steve Bruce believes his Hull City side will avoid relegation from the Premier League if they can pick up eight points from their last seven matches.

The Tigers endured a dreadful weekend, losing at Swansea City while relegation rivals Leicester City, Sunderland and QPR all won. Rangers then drew 3-3 at Aston Villa on Tuesday to leave Hull just two points above the drop-zone.

Bruce accepts that his side were poor at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday but thinks that was a one-off display and is expecting a big improvement when City visit Southampton this weekend.

It’s up to us to go out there and find a couple of wins and a couple of draws in these last seven games.

“I’ve always said it but we can’t be relying on other teams and other results now,” said Bruce.

“That’s why it’s up to us to go out there and find a couple of wins and a couple of draws in these last seven games. I’m convinced we can do that and stay up.

“The first half at Swansea was disappointing, no doubt about it. We have to be better at Southampton.”

Hull, 2.50 to be relegated this season, are available at 41.00 to secure a shock 2-0 win at St Mary’s with Abel Hernandez 5.50 to score at any time against Ronald Koeman’s side.
