Martin Demichelis has set his sights on winning more trophies after signing a contract extension with Manchester City.
The Argentine becomes the latest first team regular to pen fresh terms with the Premier League champions this season, following in the footsteps of Vincent Kompany, Samir Nasri and David Silva.
I want to say that I will fight for this club and for my team-mates until the end of my contract. I will fight to try and win titles.
The 34-year-old’s new deal will see him through until the end of the 2015/16 season, with boss Manuel Pellegrini still viewing him as a vital part of his senior squad.
Pellegrini made Demichelis one of his first signings when he took charge at the Etihad Stadium in 2013 having worked with him previously at Malaga.
The experienced defender has made 30 appearances for City this season and is delighted to have extended his stay, claiming he wants to help the club win more silverware during his time in Manchester.
“I want to say that I am really proud and happy to have extended my contract for another year,” he told City’s website.

“Manchester City is a club with a lot of ambition. We want to grow every year. When you get to hold a trophy, it’s the best feeling for any player.

Demichelis is likely to be involved again this weekend when Manchester City go to Burnley looking to close the gap on Premier League leaders Chelsea.
The Citizens, who are five points behind Jose Mourinho’s men, are 1.44 to win at Turf Moor, with the struggling Clarets 7.50 and the draw 4.50.
City are 8.00 to retain their Premier League title this term, with Chelsea 1.11.
