Swansea City manager Garry Monk has continued to revamp his squad by swooping to sign the Sporting Braga striker Eder for £5million.
The 27-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at the Liberty Stadium after finding the net 23 times in 44 starts for Braga.
He has made 18 appearances for Portugal and scored his first international goal against Italy last month.
“I am very happy to have signed with Swansea. It’s a big club and I believe I can progress as a footballer here,” said Eder.
Swansea is a big club and I believe I can progress as a footballer here.
“The Premier League will be a step up for me, but I’ve played in the European competitions and also for my country so I’ve experienced different levels of the game.
“Hopefully my team-mates will help me develop and settle in quickly at the club. I can’t wait to meet all of them when I report for pre-season training. Swansea are a solid club who have big ambitions – last season confirmed that – and it’s great for me to be a part of it.”
Monk has now made four signings this summer following the earlier acquisitions of Andre Ayew from Marseille, Saint-Etienne’s Franck Tabanou and Kristoffer Nordfeldt from Heerenveen.
Swansea are 12.00 to draw their first game of the 2015/16 season at Chelsea 1-1 and are 2.25 to finish in the top half of the table.
