Colombia international Radamel Falcao says he wants to continue playing in England next season even after Manchester United decided not to sign him on a permanent deal.
The striker spent the 2014/15 season on loan at Old Trafford from Monaco, but failed to impress, scoring just four times in 29 appearances for Louis van Gaal’s side.
United had the chance to make the loan move permanent last month but declined to take up the option.
I would like to continue in England. We’ll decide my next team in the coming weeks.
Falcao, who is currently with Colombia as they step up their preparations for the Copa America, which they are 6.50 to win, has been linked with Juventus and Chelsea, but appears to favour a loan arrangement with Jose Mourinho’s side, who are 2.37 to win the 2015/16 Premier League title outright.
“It has been speculated a lot about my next team, but I have tried to stay calm,” said Falcao. “I would like to continue in England. We’ll decide my next team in the coming weeks.”
Colombia face Costa Rica in a friendly on Saturday and are 7.50 to beat last year’s World Cup quarter-finalists 2-0, with former Porto and Atletico Madrid striker Falcao available at 2.50 to score at any time.
