Manchester United’s on-loan striker Radamel Falcao has played down rumours linking him with a move to Serie A giants Juventus.
The Colombian international joined United on a season-long loan deal from Monaco last August but things have not worked out as he would have hoped.
Falcao has managed a paltry four goals in 22 appearances for United this season and manager Louis van Gaal appears to have lost faith in the player – who has recently been asked to play with United’s U21 team.
Currently on international duty, things have gone better for the 29-year-old former Atletico Madrid player who scored twice for Colombia in a 6-0 thrashing of Bahrain on Thursday.
Falcao is coy on a potential future switch to Italian football.
Speaking to Radio Caracol, he said: “Juventus looking for me? They talk a lot, but now I’m focused 100-per-cent on Manchester United.”
Juventus face Falcao’s parent club Monaco in the last eight of the Champions League, with the Italian’s 8.00 to win the competition after their last-16 demolition of Borussia Dortmund.
Falcao insists he remains focused on making an impact at Old Trafford despite seemingly falling down the pecking order with van Gaal.
He believes he could still do enough to earn a permanent move to the Premier League.
“Before the end of the season, there are some crucial matches and I hope that this situation will change.”
Colombia are 1.20 to defeat Kuwait, who are 9.00, on Monday with the draw 6.50.
