Youssouf Mulumbu is one of only two new signings at Norwich City.

Norwich City manager Alex Neil has admitted that he would have liked to have made a number of more signings already this summer to strengthen his squad.

Neil has so far only been able to add former loanee Graham Dorrans and Youssouf Mulumbu to his Canaries squad since they gained promotion via the Championship play-offs and he is a little frustrated that other deal have proved elusive.

He told his club’s official website: “The only disappointing thing from our point of view is the targets we have tried to attract, we have not managed to get in yet.

“We have tried our very best and have been doing a lot of work behind the scenes.

“The more frustrating part is having to wait on others, because we have done what we can do – we have made offers, we have spoken to teams, to players and clubs.

“We will persevere, we will not be deterred and will continue to do what we have to do to get our (new) players in.”

One of the targets who has yet to put pen to paper at Carrow Road is Hull City wing-back Robbie Brady, who has been the subject of several bids by Norwich without any agreement being reached.

Norwich begin life back in the Premier League at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday 8th August.

The Canaries are 2.30 to begin the campaign with a win, with the draw 3.25 and an Eagles win in East Anglia 3.10.
