Gaston Ramirez will play no part in Hull City’s attempt to avoid relegation from the Premier League as he is struggling to overcome a hamstring injury.
Ramirez will return to Southampton at the end of his season-long loan switch to the Tigers and will not be returning to the KC Stadium next term, even if Hull avoid the drop.
Scans have revealed the Uruguay international has suffered a fresh hamstring tear and will not be able to play at Tottenham this weekend or against Manchester United on the final day of the campaign.
The 24-year-old has started just 11 Premier League games for Hull and has also failed to win a place in Uruguay’s provisional squad for this summer’s Copa America tournament.
Meanwhile, the club have also confirmed that Mo Diame is facing another spell on the sidelines with his troublesome knee injury.
The club’s website confirmed: “Mohamed Diame underwent knee surgery in France this week to address issues with the injury he suffered in December.
“It was hoped that Diame could avoid the need for surgery and indeed was able to make a competitive comeback in the game at Southampton. However, it became apparent that further intervention would be necessary to allow Diame to return to full fitness. It is expected Diame will be out of action for a period of three months.”
Hull are 4.75 to beat Tottenham at White Hart Lane this weekend and 1.40 to be relegated to the Championship after two seasons in the top-flight.
