Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has revealed that he has received no offers this summer for Morgan Schneiderlin.
The midfielder, who was linked with a move to Tottenham last year, was expected to leave St Mary’s this summer but returned to the club for the start of pre-season training on Monday.
The France international has been linked with a transfer to Manchester United but there has been no repeat of the exodus from the south coast last summer which saw the likes of Luke Shaw, Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Calum Chambers and Dejan Lovren all leave the Saints.
Nathaniel Clyne is on the verge of moving to Liverpool while Koeman is optimistic that he can land Toby Alderweireld on a permanent basis.
Until now, we have not a serious bid for him from Man United.
Koeman said: “We have the situation with Morgan Schneiderlin, we will have to wait to see what will happen.
“Until now, we have not a serious bid for him from Man United. We will wait but, OK, that’s business that normally starts from now. It’s no problem – it’s the first day.
“We have the experience from last season – it will be not the same this season, but we are prepared for everything. I am looking forward to another good season.
“Toby Alderweireld would like to stay, we would like to keep the player but it’s a little difficulty at the moment with Atletico Madrid. I have a good hope he will stay with Southampton.”
Southampton are 3.25 to finish in the Premier League’s top six in 2015/16 and 17.00 to win the FA Cup.
