Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has made the FC Twente defender Cuco Martina his third permanent capture of the summer.
The 25-year-old, who has agreed a two-year deal with Saints, played under Erwin Koeman, the club’s current assistant manager, at RKC Waalwijk.
Martina has been brought to St Mary’s as Ryan Bertrand and Bevis Mugabi are currently struggling with injuries.
It was a dream for me to play in the Premier League and finally I can play now.

The player said: “I’m very happy to be here at a big club like Southampton. I’ve followed Southampton for two years and I see they are now a big club.
“I know Ronald Koeman and Erwin Koeman – I worked with Erwin for one year and everything was good. He knows my qualities and I know what he wants.
“It was a dream for me to play in the Premier League and finally I can play now. I hope to play many games and show the fans who I am.”
Koeman has also signed Juanmi from Malaga and Cedric Soares from Sporting Lisbon on permanent deals this summer, while Maarten Stekelenburg has arrived on loan from Fulham. Nathaniel Clyne has signed for Liverpool while Artur Boruc has joined Bournemouth since the end of last season.
Southampton are 3.25 to finish in the Premier League’s top six in 2015/16 and 17.00 to win the FA Cup.
