Garry Monk is happy with his Swansea City squad and does not envisage any more new arrivals at the Liberty Stadium this summer.
The Swans have signed Andre Ayew, Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Eder and Franck Tabanou since the end of last season while the likes of Jazz Richards, Gerhard Tremmel and Michu have all left the club.
Swansea endured a traumatic time last summer when 12 players left the club and eight were brought in but they still enjoyed a fine campaign. They are 13.00 to draw their first game of the season on 8th August at Chelsea and are 2.25 to finish in the top half of the Premier League table in the 2015/16 campaign.
I am very happy with the squad I have got.
Wilfried Bony was sold to Manchester City in January but Monk hopes that in the future his squad will only need a little bit of tweaking each summer rather than the overhaul that occurred 12 months ago.
Leon Britton may leave the Swans before the end of the summer transfer window but Monk is happy with the signings he has made in the last two months, saying: “We said we wanted to get the right targets in early as possible to allow us to prepare as we are doing now, with a full squad for as long as possible.
“We did some really good business last summer. It was a big transition with 12 players leaving and eight coming in, then in January we bought Jack Cork, Kyle Naughton and Matty Grimes.
“We have brought four players in this summer. There could possibly be some more but it’s highly likely not to happen and there is nothing imminent. Hopefully in the future we’ll only need two or three a season. That’s the position you want to get to.
“I am very happy with the squad I have got.”
