Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has been pleased with the impact Robert Huth has made at the club on loan but remained coy over a possible permanent deal for the Stoke defender.
The Foxes boss signed the experienced Potters centre-back on transfer deadline day at the start of February and the former Chelsea man is doing his bit to try and help the midlanders stay in the Premier League.
The 30-year-old has made seven appearances on loan, impressing particularly in the successive victories against West Ham and West Brom recently, and he even caught the eye with a goal at the Hawthorns in the vital 3-2 win last weekend.
It is not the right thing to talk publicly about someone else’s player while he’s on loan.
Pearson believes the former Germany international has had a big impact at the King Power Stadium, praising his committment and attitude to the club’s relegation scrap.
It is thought Leicester will launch a permanent bid for Huth in the summer if they do stay up but Pearson refused to discuss that possibility as all he remains focused on is guiding his side away from the bottom three in the table.
He told the Leicester Mercury: “He has lots of Premier League experience and I think that has shown since he has been with us.
“I am very pleased with his input. It is not the right thing to talk publicly about someone else’s player while he’s on loan.
“I am just very pleased he is playing his part and he feels very much a part of what we are doing.”
Following their back-to-back wins, Leicester have given themselves a fighting chance of staying up ahead of another big weekend fixture at home to Swansea.
The Foxes are 2.15 to win, Swansea are 3.50 and the draw is 3.40.
