Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is still hopeful that James Milner will agree a new deal with the club.
The England international midfielder’s current contract is set to expire in the summer and he has been involved in protracted negotiations over a new long-term deal.
I hope he will find an arrangement, and I think it’s possible.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Roma are all believed to be keen on securing the 29-year-old’s services, who has become a stalwart in the City engine room since moving to the Etihad in 2010.
He has made 186 appearances for the current Premier League champions, scoring 16 goals since signing in a £26million move from Aston Villa. He has made 53 appearances for the national side.
Speaking about the negotiations, Pellegrini said: “Maybe City have already offered all that the club can offer, maybe it’s not about more money, maybe there are different things to sign a new contract.
“You must ask James what is happening with him. I hope he will find an arrangement, and I think it’s possible.”
Manchester City are currently five points behind Chelsea in the race for the title, with the London club also having a game in hand. To remain in the title race, Pellegrini’s outfit will need to beat Burnley at Turf Moor in the Saturday evening kick-off.
Burnley are 7.50 to win the game, with City 1.45 and the draw 5.00. Meanwhile, the Manchester outfit are 8.00 to defend their Premier League crown successfully, with Jose Mourinho’s team 1.11 to take it off them.
