Manager Manuel Pellegrini has dismissed talk of his job at Manchester City being on the line if the Citizens do not win a trophy this season.
Chilean Pellegrini has seen his side lose ground to Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title in recent weeks, with City having won only two of their last five league games.
There are different ways of analysing things. Winning trophies is only one of them.
However, ahead of a visit form basement side Leicester City on Wednesday evening, Pellegrini has played down suggestions that he could be replaced at the end of the season if no silverware is won.
He said: “I am not under any pressure to win an amount of titles or win a title every year.
“I don’t feel any pressure. I only feel pressure when I don’t see my team playing the right way, all the other things are not important.
“There are different ways of analysing things. Winning trophies is only one of them.
“Nobody knows what is in the future. Maybe last year nobody thought we were going to win the title, but we did.
“To think about the future is the worst thing. I don’t do that. The most important thing for me is to continue playing with the same style of play.”
Pellegrini’s side secured a 1-0 victory at Leicester in mid-December thanks to a Frank Lampard strike shortly before half-time and they can be backed at 1.25 to complete a double over the Foxes.
The Citizens are available at 7.50 to secure a 2-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium, with Sergio Aguero 3.75 to net the first goal of the game.
