Another lacklustre performance from the reigning champions has effectively handed the Premier League title to Chelsea without the Blues having to break sweat. Mike Norman has today’s In-Play odds details…
Burnley gave their Premier League survival chances a huge boost by beating Manchester City 1-0 tonight, and in doing so effectively handing the title to Chelsea.
The Clarets were matched at a high of 10.09/1 to win the game but deservedly took the lead midway through the second half when George Boyd caught the ball on the half volley and fired home into the far corner.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men, subject of squad disharmony rumours during the week, never looked on their game at Turf Moor, and despite having plenty of possession and attempts at goal they barely created a clear-cut chance.
Boyd was matched at 40.039/1 to score the first goal of the game, while the 1-0 Correct Score was matched at 32.031/1 In-Play.
The result means that City stay five points behind league leaders Chelsea, but with Jose Mourinho’s men having two games in hand, starting with tomorrow’s home match against Southampton, the Blues are now into 1.081/12 to win the Premier League title. City are out to 24.023/1.
Arsenal are now just one point behind City in third place thanks to a comfortable 3-0 win over West Ham at the Emirates Stadium.
The game looked like going into the interval goalless but an Olivier Giroud strike in the 45th minute gave the Gunners the lead. The 1-0 Half Time Score was matched at 8.88/1.
Second half goals from Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini sealed the win for Arsene Wenger’s men who now travel to France in an attempt to overturn a 3-1 first leg deficit against Monaco in the Champions League.
The 3-0 Correct Score was matched at a high of 19.5n/a, and Arsenal were backed at just 1.574/7 In-Play to win the game
