In-form Liverpool have an opportunity to finish as high as second in the Premier League according to manager Brendan Rodgers.
Rodgers was speaking after seeing a Jordan Henderson goal secure a 1-0 win at Swansea City, a result which moved the fifth-placed Reds to within four points of Manchester City, who currently occupy second place in the table.
The target is to finish as high as we can.

And the Northern Irishman is excited about the form shown by his side in recent weeks, with Liverpool having won eight of their last nine league games and kept six consecutive clean sheets away from home.
Rodgers said: “Our mentality, the run and confidence we have at the moment we’re just going to take that into every game and see where it takes us.
“We’ve put ourselves in a great position. The target is to finish as high as we can. Everyone talks about fourth but it’s the same every year for me. We do the best we can do.
“We’ve clawed our way slowly back into it. We knew it was going to take time being so many points behind, but to get back to this level of consistency is very, very impressive.
“We’ve still got a lot of work to do, but we’re on the right pathway.”
Next up for the Merseysiders is a Sunday lunchtime Anfield showdown with deadly rivals Manchester United, who are currently two points and one place better off than Liverpool.
The hosts will be out for revenge after being beaten 3-0 by United at Old Trafford shortly before Christmas.
Liverpool can be backed at 2.10 to win on Sunday and are 3.00 to keep a clean sheet, while the home side are 21.00 to triumph by a 3-0 scoreline.
