Manchester United new boy Bastian Schweinsteiger is looking forward to a ‘new and exciting challenge’ after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract at Old Trafford.
The 30-year-old Germany international midfielder has left Bayern Munich to try his luck with the Red Devils, having won eight Bundesliga titles in his homeland, as well as the 2013 Champions League.
He brings a wealth of experience and is an excellent addition to our squad.

Schweinsteiger was also a key member of the Germany side who lifted the World Cup in Brazil a year ago and, having spent the whole of his career to date at Bayern, has opted to try his luck in England.
He told his new club’s official website: “Manchester United is the only club that I would have left Munich for.
“I feel ready for this new and exciting challenge in what I regard as the most competitive league in the world and I am looking forward to working with Louis van Gaal again.”
Dutch coach Van Gaal, who spent nearly two years in charge of Bayern between 2009 and 2011, added: “Bastian is, of course, no stranger to me. His record speaks for itself; he has won every honour at club level and was a major part of the successful Germany World Cup-winning team last summer.
“Bastian is the ultimate professional and there is no doubting his talent and his ability to control games. He brings a wealth of experience and is an excellent addition to our squad.”
Schweinsteiger becomes the third major arrival at Old Trafford this summer, with the Red Devils having also swooped for PSV Eindhoven forward Memphis Depay and Torino defender Matteo Darmian, while Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin quickly became the fourth significant recruit.
United, who finished in fourth place in the league last season, can be backed at 6.00 to win the Premier League in 2015/16, with holders Chelsea 2.50 and Manchester City 3.75.
