The Daily Acca: Blues to win in an entertaining affair

Spoils to be shared at Bramall Lane

Bet 1: Back The Draw in Sheffield United v Wolves 19/10 – KO 18:00 BST

The Blades fell away towards the end of last season, but they still finished in a more than respectable ninth. The concern for Chris Wilder will be that they haven’t made any marquee signings, and their only big money buy was a goalkeeper to replace, Dean Henderson.

Visitors, Wolves, finished seventh – five points better off than Sheffield United. Nuno Espírito Santo has lost the services of Matt Doherty to Spurs, but he has managed to get in Fabio Silva from Porto – a very promising young forward.

Neither of these two teams score a huge amount of goals, and a lot of their success is built on a strong defence. By the end of the season I expect Wolves to be much higher in the league, but tonight, with home advantage, I definitely think that the hosts can hold them to a draw.

Toulouse to lose again

Bet 2: Back Sochaux @ 23/10 – KO 19:45 BST

Toulouse were relegated from Ligue One last season, finishing bottom of the pile. After two games of life in the second tier, they find themselves in the exact same position.

Patrice Garande’s men have played two and lost two. They first lost at home to a newly promoted side, and they followed that up with a 5-3 defeat at Grenoble Foot 38.

Sochaux are the visitors this evening, and they have made a flying start, taking six points from a possible six. They won 2-0 at Auxerre, before knocking off Troyes by two goals to one at home.

On current form, they are definitely a value bet at the prices.

Exciting times for Chelsea

Bet 3: Back Chelsea & BTTS @ 23/10 – KO 20:15 BST

Frank Lampard has done some serious spending over the summer, with Timo Werner and Kai Havertz being the headline ones. Ben Chilwell, Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva have also arrived at the Bridge, and Chelsea are now a serious proposition for the title.

They begin their campaign at the Amex, and while I certainly expect them to win, I can’t see them keeping a clean sheet.

Lampard has added some quality to his defence, but his team is still a very attacking one, and Brighton play expansive football under Graham Potter.
