Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is unsure how serious Yaya Toure’s injury is after he picked up a problem in the dramatic 3-2 victory against Aston Villa.
Toure appeared to be struggling with a hamstring injury in the first half and was substituted at the interval.
Pellegrini said: “It is difficult to know what will happen with Yaya but taking him off was not a precaution. It was a muscle injury. We will see on Sunday or Monday how important (an injury) it is.”
City eased into a 2-0 lead despite not being at their best thanks to goals by Sergio Aguero – who profited on a Brad Guzan blunder to score- and Aleksandar Kolarov.
However, Tim Sherwood’s FA Cup finalists responded well and halved the deficit through Tom Cleverley before Carlos Sanchez grabbed an equaliser five minutes from time.
City looked as though they would have to settle for a point but Fernandinho scored in the 89th minute as City grabbed a crucial 3-2 victory.
Manchester City are now 1.006 to finish in the top four while Villa are 8.00 to be relegated and 3.50 to win the FA Cup final against Arsenal next month.
