PSV Eindhoven have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Manchester United for the sale of Memphis Depay once the transfer window opens in June.

The Dutch champions posted the news on Twitter, revealing the Netherlands international will move to Old Trafford, subject to him passing a medical in Manchester next week.

We’re obviously losing a fantastic player who is of great value to the team. But PSV grants him this wonderful move.

The deal for the 21-year-old is believed to be worth in the region of £25-30million, with United fighting off competition from the likes of Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham to land the talented forward.

PSV had previously said they would not allow Depay to go on the cheap having rejected an offer of £15million from Spurs in January, and technical director Marcel Brands says the agreement struck with United pleases all parties.

“We are very proud of this transfer,” said Brands.

“Memphis has come up through all the PSV teams from the youth academy and has played an important part in winning the title this year.

“He’s a wonderful exponent of our training and will be a great addition to a magnificent club in a beautiful competition. We’re obviously losing a fantastic player who is of great value to the team. But PSV grants him this wonderful move. ”

Depay made himself one of United manager Louis van Gaal’s main summer transfer targets with his form for PSV Eindhoven this season, finding the back of the net 20 times in 34 appearances as the club stormed to the Eredivisie title.

The Dutchman’s arrival is expected to be the first of many signings United are aiming to complete this summer as van Gaal continues to alter the squad.

The majority of van Gaal’s transfer plans are likely to rest on whether the Red Devils are playing Champions League football next season, with the club 1.071 to finish in the top four.

The Red Devils face Crystal Palace on Saturday and are 1.85 for the win, with the Eagles 4.50 and the draw 3.50.
