Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has hinted that he still believes that his side have an outside chance of being crowned Premier League champions.
The Red Devils are currently eight points adrift of leaders Chelsea, who also have a game in hand, with United having moved five points ahead of Liverpool in the battle to secure a top-four finish.
Still we can win the title, mathematically, we can do that.

And, while the Dutchman accepts that the fight for the top four is far from over, he also sees an outside chance for his side to sneak into title contention.
He said ahead of a visit from Aston Villa on Saturday: “It’s a rat race and Tottenham and Liverpool are still in it.
“We have given them a blow, but we still have to play the top two teams (Chelsea and Manchester City) and a lot can happen.
“But still we can win the title, mathematically, we can do that.”
United, who have won seven of their last eight meetings with Villa, are 1.33 to secure another victory on Saturday and are 6.00 to win by a 2-0 scoreline, with the Red Devils 1.72 to keep a clean sheet.
Meanwhile, Van Gaal also confirmed that striker Robin van Persie remains some way away from a return to action from an ankle injury which has kept him sidelined since mid-February.
Van Gaal added: “Robin van Persie is still injured.
“We have a process. He has to go to the final football coach before he comes into my group and he is not there yet. He is still not in my group.”
Van Persie has scored ten goals for United so far this season, with all of those strikes coming in the Premier League
