Galatasaray have confirmed that they are interested in signing Manchester United striker Robin van Persie this summer.
The Turkish side’s boss Hamza Hamzaoglu has admitted that he remains keen to sign the former Arsenal star although he is not willing to break the bank to land the Dutchman.
“We want to sign players who will both improve the squad and excite our fans,” he said.
“No manager would be able to say no to van Persie. However, we cannot spend beyond our means. We hope to come to an agreement with him.”

Van Persie made 25 starts for Louis van Gaal’s side last term, scoring ten goals, and is under contract with United until the end of next season.
The 31-year-old recently hinted that he would be happy to spend next season at Old Trafford but he could be tempted to move to Istanbul as Galatasaray are also being linked with Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
Van Persie said recently: “Things could change but that all depends on Manchester United, not me.”
Van Persie scored 26 Premier League goals in his first season at United, 2012/13, but only managed to find the net 12 times in 2013/14 as David Moyes’ side struggled.
United are 6.00 to win the Premier League title outright in 2015/16 and 1.66 to win their first match of the season against Tottenham.
