Aston Villa centre-back Ron Vlaar has refused to be drawn on his future, as talk continues about where he will be playing his football next season.
The 30-year-old Netherlands international is out of contract at the end of the month, with a number of other Premier League clubs showing an interest in his services.
I don’t know where my future lies.
However, Vlaar says he has made no decisions about his future, having spent the last three seasons with Villa as they have struggled to maintain their Premier League status.
“I don’t know where my future lies,” Vlaar said. “Even if I knew, I would not be able to tell you, but, the truth is that there is nothing going on right now.
“No idea about renewing with Aston Villa, but the truth is that nothing is confirmed.
“The Premier League is a great competition and a great league. I think it’s the toughest league in the world.
“There are a lot of challenges there for every player. It made me a better player and it has certainly been good for me.”
Villa finished in 17th place in the Premier League last season, escaping the drop by just three points, but they also reached the FA Cup final, only to be thrashed 4-0 by Arsenal.
The Midlanders can be backed at 5.00 to be relegated, while they are 1.18 to escape the drop and 4.33 to finish in the top half of the table.
