Joel Ward has signed a contract extension at Crystal Palace, which will keep him at Selhurst Park until the summer of 2018.
Ward has played in every game for the Eagles this season as the side have risen to mid-table in the Premier League, well away from relegation trouble.
I love the passion of the club, the fans have been exceptional since I’ve come here.
The defender moved to Selhurst Park in 2012 and was part of the team that won promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs at the end of that first season.
He has made the transition to top flight football and says he is delighted to be pledging his future to Palace.
He told the club’s website: “It has been something that has been talked about a little bit and I am glad to now put that to the back and just concentrate with my football and I’m delighted to have signed the deal.”
He added: “I love the passion of the club, the fans have been exceptional since I’ve come here and they’ve welcomed me with open arms.”
He is part of a side who are on a four-game winning streak as Palace continue to thrive under manager Alan Pardew.
They followed up a 2-1 win over champions Manchester City with a 4-1 away win at relegation-threatened Sunderland and also beat Stoke and QPR in a run that has taken them to within a point of the top half of the table.
This weekend they welcome former manager Tony Pulis back to Selhurst Park as they take on his new side West Brom. They are 1.95 for the win while West Brom are priced at 4.00 and the draw is 3.30.
