Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger thinks Carl Jenkinson will benefit from having another season on loan at West Ham United after handing the 23-year-old a new contract.
The former Charlton Athletic star spent last season on loan with the Hammers and featured in 32 Premier League games for the club.
He joined the Gunners almost exactly four years ago in a £1million deal and has featured in 37 top-flight games for the club.
We are a bit congested in an area where you do not find many right-backs all over the world.
Jenkinson featured for the England Under-21 side in the European Championship in the Czech Republic earlier this summer.
Wenger said: “Carl has moved because he had the confidence of West Ham. We have the emergence of Hector Bellerin, we have (Mathieu) Debuchy, we have (Calum) Chambers.
“We are a bit congested in an area where you do not find many right-backs all over the world. He will continue his development with West Ham. I found that all are winners there – (West Ham) and Arsenal and Jenkinson.”
Arsenal are available at 5.50 to win the Premier League title outright in the 2015/16 season and can be backed at 1.33 to win their opening match of the season against the Hammers on 9th August. They are also 9.00 to win the FA Cup for the third campaign in a row.
