Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti remains confident that with patience his side can reach the Champions League final at the expense of Italian champions Juventus.
The men from Madrid suffered a 2-1 defeat in the first leg of their semi-final in Turin, leaving them with work to do at the Bernabeu if they are to keep alive their bid to become the first club to successfully defend the Champions League title.
It is difficult to find a way of breaking them down – it requires patience.
But former Juve boss Ancelotti is still full of hope that Real can progress, although he is aware that they need to be patient to try and disrupt a solid Italian backline.
He told his club’s official website: “This result does not fill us with joy, but we are confident about turning things around in the Bernabeu.
“A 1-1 draw would have been a good result. We played an attacking game, but it became difficult to find space and Juve were extremely dangerous on the break.
“They are a very well-organised team at the back. It is difficult to find a way of breaking them down – it requires patience.”
In five previous meetings between the two sides in the Champions League at the Bernabeu, Real have won by a single goal on four occasions, with Juve earning a 2-0 victory in the other game in November 2008.
Last season Real and the Biaconeri met at the group stage of the competition, with Juve losing 2-1 in Madrid, before securing a 2-2 draw on home turf.
Juve can now be backed at 2.10 to reach the Champions League final, with Real 1.72, while Los Merengues are 4.00 to be crowned European champion for a record 11th time.
