Gareth Bale insists he will learn from the mistakes he has made this season after missing some good chances as Real Madrid crashed out of the Champions League.
The Wales international has been criticised this term for his below-par displays in a Real shirt and he was he not at his best again as Real could only draw 1-1 with Juventus in the second leg of their semi-final clash, the Italian side progressing to next month’s final against Barcelona in Berlin 3-2 on aggregate.
Alvaro Morata scored Juve’s equaliser after Cristiano Ronaldo had fired Real ahead on the night from the penalty spot.
We’ve still got a chance to win the league and we’ll keep fighting until it’s mathematically impossible.
Former Tottenham star Bale said afterwards: “There have been some ups and downs but personally I think I’ve played well this season.
“I’ve maybe not scored as many important chances as I’d like but my general play has been good. My finishing is not as good and that’s something to work on for next year. What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger, and I’ll learn from this season and take it on.
“I was unlucky not to grab one against Juventus. As long as I keep trying, usually one goes in. Unfortunately it didn’t happen tonight and you move on.”
It has been a bad week for Real Madrid as their draw with Valencia left them four points behind Barcelona with two games left in La Liga.
Bale added: “We’ve still got a chance to win the league and we’ll keep fighting until it’s mathematically impossible. That’s all we can do.”
Real are available at 26.00 to win the La Liga title while Barcelona can be backed at 1.36 to clinch the Champions League.
