Everton forward Kevin Mirallas says that it is important that his side continue to progress in the Europa League and put their domestic problems behind them.
The Toffees have struggled for form in the Premier League and are just six points clear of the drop zone after a run of only one win in their last ten league games.
It’s important for the country now, we represent the last team from England in the tour.
That position means that there is added pressure on Roberto Martinez’s side to impress in Europe, especially as they are the last English team left in the Europa League.
Mirallas told the Liverpool Echo: “It’s very important, because when you have problems in the Premier League, the Europa League can be a different level. It’s better for your head that you play another kind of team.
“It’s very exciting now, because the best teams have stayed in the Europa League.
“It’s important for the country now, we represent the last team from England in the tournament. All the country will be watching Everton in the Europa League now.”
Everton play host to Dynamo Kyiv in the first leg of their last-16 tie on Thursday evening, with striker Romelu Lukaku hoping to continue the form which saw him score five times in the previous round against Young Boys.
The Belgium international can be backed at 5.50 to open the scoring at Goodison Park and is 3.40 to be the first goalscorer for the home side, with Lukaku 2.50 to score at any time.
Meanwhile, Toffees boss Martinez has injury doubts over Leighton Baines (hip), Aiden McGeady (knee) and Steven Pienaar (knee).
