Ahead of the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola has again pledged his future to the club.
The 44-year-old former Barca tactician continues to be linked with a move to England in the summer, but the clearly irritated Spaniard told reporters that there was no truth at all in the latest round of rumours.
We’re Bayern – before a game I’ve never said that we have no chance.
He commented: “I’ve already said 200 million times – I’ll be here next season, that’s it. I have a year left on my contract and next season I will be here.”
Meanwhile, Guardiola has refused to throw in the towel in Bayern’s bid to reach the Champions League final, with the Catalans having won 3-0 in the Camp Nou in the first leg to take total control of the tie.
Ahead of the return leg in the Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening, Guardiola added: “Barcelona are strong on the break. If we let something slip, they will punish us.
“We have to defend well, we can’t go on the all-out attack. We have to control the game.
“We’re Bayern – before a game I’ve never said that we have no chance. Of course we do.”
Bayern can be backed at 26.00 to win 3-0 in 90 minutes to force extra-time, with Barca 1.015 to reach the final and 1.57 to go on and lift the trophy.
The Bavarians head into the game on the back of four losses in their last four games, a run which began with a penalty shootout defeat by Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal.
Bundesliga reverses to both Bayer Leverkusen and Augsburg were then suffered either side of their mauling by Barca.
