Olivier Giroud believes Arsenal have what it takes to defy their critics and knock Monaco out of the Champions League.
The Gunners go into Tuesday night’s last-16 clash with Monaco trailing 3-1 after last month’s disastrous first leg in north London.
However, Arsene Wenger’s side have responded to that loss by winning four games in a row, against Everton, QPR and West Ham United in the Premier League, and at Manchester United in the sixth round of the FA Cup, a competition they can be backed at 1.83 to win outright this season.
Don’t believe the people who talk too much about football.
Giroud scored in the 3-0 home victory against the Hammers at the weekend and the French striker thinks Arsenal can secure a place in the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in five seasons.
“There are always tough moments like the first leg against Monaco because we do a hard job,” he said.
“If you let the doubts enter your head it’s even more difficult. You have to question yourself every week and bounce back. I try to show my answer on the pitch with my mentality. It was nice to do it against West Ham.
“Even when you play well and score a lot of goals, if you miss some everything is forgotten. You have to be aware. Don’t believe the people who talk too much about football.
“I know when I play well or not I know how to bounce back. We trust in our chance to go through.”
Arsenal can be backed at 7.00 to reach the Champions League quarter-finals and are 21.00 to win 3-0 in 90 minutes on Tuesday evening.
