Reading head coach Steve Clarke has warned his side to focus on the task in hand of winning at Bradford City to reach the FA Cup semi-finals.
The Royals have the chance to reach the last four for the first time since 1927, but Clarke is well aware of the test his players will face on Saturday afternoon at Valley Parade.
We have to concentrate on beating Bradford – if we beat Bradford, then everything else follows after that.
He told reporters: “We’ll talk about how to beat Bradford, that’s what we’ll talk about. The rewards are there and clear to see, you don’t have to talk about them.
“We have to concentrate on beating Bradford – if we beat Bradford, then everything else follows after that.”
Meanwhile, Bantams boss Phil Parkinson, whose side have knocked out Premier League Chelsea and Sunderland in the last two rounds, is relishing the challenge ahead, following a 1-0 home win over Crawley Town on Tuesday evening.
He told his club’s official website: “We can enjoy the build-up now and look forward to what will be a cracking atmosphere here on Saturday.
“A FA Cup quarter-final at home in front of a full house with three league points already in the bag, it doesn’t get much better than that.”
The two sides have only ever met once before in the FA Cup, with the Bantams winning 2-0 on home turf way back in January 1907.
The Bantams are 2.00 to reach the semi-finals, with the Royals 1.80, while a draw after 90 minutes on Saturday is available at 3.30.
