Tim Sherwood has confirmed that he hopes to open new contract talks with Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke in the summer.
The Belgium international endured a difficult start to the season but has been in a rich vein of form since the beginning of March and scored a hat-trick in the 3-3 draw with QPR as well as grabbing the winner in last weekend’s 1-0 victory at Tottenham.
Benteke is 3.50 to score at any time in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool. Villa can be backed at 19.00 to win 2-1 and are available at 10.00 to win the FA Cup outright.

Benteke has scored eight goals in his last six games and has been tipped to end his three-year stay at Villa Park in the summer.
Sherwood said: “We don’t want to sell our best players. I also want players who want to play at the football club. He’s made no indication to me that he wants to play elsewhere.
“If he does then we will assess the situation but we want to keep him at the club. You can’t force any player. You might as well take the money because you end up without the money or the player if you don’t take it.
“It’s certainly something that will have to be addressed (in the summer). He’s focused at the moment just on playing football and that’s what I want him to be.”
