Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola picked out Manuel Neuer for special praise after watching the goalkeeper produce a fine display in the 4-1 victory against Cologne.
The win moves Bayern 11 points clear in the Bundesliga table and they are in a particularly rich vein of form after recently thrashing Hamburg 8-0 and Paderborn 6-0.
Bastian Schweinsteiger, Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Robert Lewandowski scored for Bayern but Cologne fought back to make it 2-1 when Anthony Ujah scored on the stroke of half-time.
The visitors even threatened to get back on level terms and Neuer was forced to make several excellent stops.
Guardiola said afterwards: “I’m happy. We’ve beaten the second-best away team in the league and scored four goals, which is very, very difficult against these opponents.
“We started well, but we lost control after a while. Once Arjen had made it 3-1 it was a completely different game again. We recovered our dominance. But we won today because Manu made two outstanding saves.”
Bayern Munich are currently priced 1.001 in the Bundesliga outright winner betting and Cologne are quoted 6.00 to be relegated.
