Pre-Season Friendlies: Inter, Wolfsburg and Juve team news and tips

AC Milan [3.15] v Inter [2.4]; The Draw [3.6]Saturday, 13:00
Live on Sky Sports 3

Inter coach Roberto Mancini declared before this derby in China that “both Milan clubs will be challenging for the top honours again”, and it is easy to understand his optimism.

Whereas the clubs won every scudetto from 2006/07 to 2010/11, AC Milan have closed the past three campaigns in third, eighth and tenth, with Inter finishing ninth, fifth and eighth.

However, both have changed coaches since November – Inter bringing back Mancini and AC Milan hiring his former Nerazzurri assistant Sinisa Mihajlovic from Sampdoria – both have or are gaining financial backing from Asian investors and both have recruited ambitiously this summer.

For Miranda and Geoffrey Kondogbia at Inter with Stevan Jovetic to come, see Andrea Bertolacci, Luiz Adriano and Carlos Bacca at AC Milan.

Inter seem more complete. They have the more decorated coach and he has been in charge for longer, their current spending cycle started a few windows back and they finished higher last term. For that reason, they are worth a bet at above evens in Shenzhen.

Recommended Bet: Back Inter to win @ [2.4]

Wolfsburg [2.1] v Villarreal [3.75]; The Draw [3.7]Saturday, 14:00
Live on BT Sport 1

What have these teams been up to since you last saw them perform adeptly in 2014/15, with Wolfsburg taking second in the Bundesliga and lifting the German Cup and Villarreal achieving a second successive top six La Liga finish since promotion and reaching the Copa del Rey semis?

Nothing wild has happened at Wolfsburg besides the signing of German international forward Max Kruse, though star turn Kevin De Bruyne has yet to leave. Villarreal lost Luciano Vietto and Giovani dos Santos, but obtained Malaga’s Samuel Garcia and Samuel Castillejo among others.

Neither have been in optimum form in their pre-season endeavours to date, with Wolfsburg held by Legia Gdansk and Villarreal losing to Brisbane Roar. Both teams to score has been prevalent in their fixtures, and landed in six out of eight Emirates Cup clashes in 2013 and 2014.

Recommended Bet: Back both teams to score @ [1.7]

Borussia Dortmund [3.0] v Juventus [2.34]; The Draw [3.6]Saturday, 18:00
Live on BT Sport 2

As if the day’s friendly line-up wasn’t already stacked, there is also this Switzerland-hosted reprisal of one of last season’s Champions League round-of-16 ties.

Borussia Dortmund have had a better summer than many expected in the aftermath of Jurgen Klopp’s exit, with Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan deciding to stay, while Juventus contrived to lose Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez despite reaching the Champions League final.

The Old Lady have bought fairly well though, with Sami Khedira reinforcing their weakened midfield and Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and Simone Zaza all arriving up front.

Both of these sides’ 2014/15 meetings exceeded over 2.5 goals, as did their previous two friendlies against one another and all of Dortmund’s matches so far this month.

Recommended Bet: Back over 2.5 goals @ [1.67]
