Bayern Munich’s star French forward Franck Ribery is desperate to recover from ankle problems and be ready for the start of the 2015/16 Bundesliga season.

The 32-year-old has been sidelined since scoring in a 7-0 Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk in early March and is frustrated at a lack of progress in his recovery.

He told BIld: “The injury is getting on my nerves, it’s a catastrophe. I have everything which one can only dream of in life, but I am not free.

“I think about my football the time. I just want to run, I want to play. I have to be able to train in order to be happy.”

And Ribery is even more determined to be fit by the end of the month, as he bids to try and be ready for the beginning of the new season in Germany, which starts on 14th August.

Ribery added. “I have to be fit for 1st July. Whether I will manage that, I don’t know, but I will try everything to make it happen.”

The talented forward has been with Bayern since the summer of 2007, having previously made his name in his homeland with Marseille and Metz, as well as enjoying a spell in Turkey with Galatasaray.

During his time in Bavaria, Ribery has won the Bundesliga five times, the DFB-Pokal on four occasions and the Champions League in 2013.

And Bayern are 1.10 to be crowned Bundesliga champions again next season, with Wolfsburg 17.00 and Borussia Dortmund 21.00.
