Paul Pogba’s agent has backtracked on an admission his client will leave Juventus in the next two years by suggesting he could now stay in Turin.
Mino Raiola earlier hinted the Scudetto chasers will be powerless to prevent the France midfielder securing a huge move to another of Europe’s leading clubs in the future. The likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old.
He also said he expected Pogba to command a transfer fee in excess of Gareth Bale’s world-record £85.3million move to Real Madrid.
Now his agent has suggested Pogba, who is under contract until 2019, is not against the idea of staying with the defending Serie A champions. Juventus are currently priced 1.05 in the Serie A outright winner betting.
“All the top clubs are interested in him,” Pogba’s agent, Raiola, told French newspaper Le Parisien. “Ligue 1 is not too small for Paul.
“We respect the Spanish, German, English, French and Italian leagues.
“Everyone thinks Paul will leave Juventus [this summer], but it’s not certain. It all depends on the will of the club and of Paul.
“When the time comes, he will leave.”
Pogba is widely regarded as one of the finest midfielders of his generation and viewed in his homeland as the flag-bearer of the next generation of French talent. He has scored six goals and set up two more in 21 Serie A appearances to help Juve remain on course for their fourth successive Scudetto.
