Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has hit out at criticism over his managing following 1-1 draw with Villarreal last weekend.

A chorus of whistles were heard when the substitution of Isco for Asier Illarramendi took place during the stalemate.

However Ancelotti is refusing to be down heartened by the reaction in the crowd and will be approaching Saturday’s La Liga encounter with Athletic Bilbao as he would normally.

He was quoted by Sky Sports, saying: “I have felt supported by the club since the first day I arrived.

“I have a lot of experience. I have been coaching for many years and with this ‘weak’ arm of mine I have managed to win three Champions Leagues.

“I am used to criticism, this was not the first time and it won’t be the last either but it won’t change my attitude. I have full confidence in the team and I will repeat that I would make the same substitution again.”

Real are 1.50 to win, 4.50 to draw and 6.50 to lose to Athletic.
