Carlo Ancelotti admits his Real Madrid side will struggle to overhaul Barcelona and win the La Liga title following their 2-2 draw against Valencia at the Bernabeu.

Earlier on Saturday Barcelona had beaten David Moyes’ Real Sociedad at the Nou Camp but Real trailed 2-0 to Los Che who surged ahead thanks to goals by Paco Alcacer and Javi Fuego.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty, while Real also hit the woodwork three times and midfielder Toni Kroos picked up an injury.

Real did rescue a point as Pepe and Isco scored after the interval, but Valencia held on for the point which virtually guarantees them Champions League football next season.

“This makes it much more difficult, but we will keep going,” Ancelotti said. “We have two games to play, will try and win both. But of course it is more difficult now.”

Real face Juventus at the Bernabeu on Wednesday in their Champions League semi-final second leg clash and trail 2-1 after the first game in Turin.

Ancelotti added: “We gave everything we could against Valencia. The players know that if they play this way again on Wednesday, we can reach the final. We must have a positive attitude and see the good things we did in this game.”

Real Madrid are currently priced 26.00 in the La Liga outright winner betting.
