Barcelona have confirmed Jordi Alba, Pedro and Dani Alves have all committed their futures to the club by signing contract extensions.

Given the club’s current transfer embargo the Spanish and European champions have been working hard to retain the current members of their first-team squad.

Right-back Alves has penned a two-year extension with the Blaugrana having finally decided he wants to stay at the Nou Camp following months of speculation.

The Brazil international had previously done little to dampen speculation he could leave the club before signing his new deal, courting the interest of AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.

Alves has decided to sign his extension despite Barcelona confirming the signing of Aleix Vidal, who can also play right-back, from Sevilla on Monday.

Meanwhile, Pedro has also opted to commit his future to Barca despite a lack of first-team action this season.

The Spain international has found it tough to oust Luis Suarez, Neymar or Lionel Messis from the starting XI and had options to go elsewhere but has instead agreed terms on a deal through until 2019.

Compatriot Alba has also signed a long-term extension through until the summer of 2020, the 26-year-old having made the left-back spot his own since joining from Valencia in 2012.

Alba says he is happy Barcelona are keeping the current squad together, hailing the work they have done to get Dani Alves to pen fresh terms.

“I’m really glad because he is a really important player for us,” said Alba. “He’s one of the most professional players I have known in my career and he will continue to help us a lot.”

Barcelona are 4.50 to become the first team to retain the European Cup in the Champions League era next season, with this year’s runners-up Juventus 17.00 and Bayern Munich 6.00.
