Germany international Sami Khedira has confirmed that he will be leaving Real Madrid at the end of this season.
The 27-year-old is out of contract at the Bernabeu in June and has been linked with a free transfer switch to both Manchester United and Manchester City.
He played a key part in Germany’s World Cup success last summer but has only made 17 appearances for Real this season and has once again struggled with injuries.
Khedira told Kicker: “This is not a decision against Real, but I want to put a new charm in my career and develop myself. There is no agreement with anybody and absolutely no tendency.”
The midfielder was sidelined for six months last season when he suffered a knee injury and only just returned to full-fitness in time for the World Cup in Brazil.
Khedira, who captained Germany as they drew 2-2 with Australia in an international friendly on Wednesday, moved to Real from Stuttgart in 2010.
However, injuries have restricted him to just over 100 La Liga appearances during his five seasons at the Bernabeu.
Real Madrid are 4.00 to win the La Liga title outright this season and 5.00 to win the Champions League for the second campaign in a row. Meanwhile, Germany are available at 4.00 to win Euro 2016 outright.
